Chetana Apagnmati Vikas Sanstha has 12+ essential Special committees to ensure smooth functioning, compliance with legal standards, and to address the specific needs of students and trainees with disabilities. Here are some of our key committees:
1. School Management Committee (SMC): Responsible for the overall administration, development, and policies of the school along with ensuring financial management, infrastructure improvement, and adherence to regulations.
2. Special Education Committee: Focuses on curriculum development, teaching practices, appropriate resource allocation and teaching methodologies that cater to students with diverse learning needs.
3. Individualized Education Plan (IEP) Committee: Involves special educators, therapists, parents, and counselors in the process in developing and monitoring personalized education plans for each student, based on their abilities, needs, and developmental goals.
4. Vocational Training Committee: Manages and develops vocational training programs to help students develop practical skills that lead to employment and independence.
5. Vishakha Samiti (Internal Complaints Committee-ICC): The Vishakha Samiti is in accordance with the guidelines laid out in the Vishakha Judgment by the Supreme Court of India in 1997.
The Vishakha Samiti, or the Internal Complaints Committee (ICC), is responsible for:
Handling complaints of sexual harassment at the workplace.
Conducting inquiries into complaints and recommending actions. Chetana Vikas has created an infrastructure implementing CCTV cameras at every monitored location within the campus.
Ensuring a safe, harassment-free environment for students and teachers.
Promoting awareness about workplace ethics and gender sensitivity.
Organizations with more than 10 employees are mandated by law to have this committee in place, ensuring compliance with the Sexual Harassment of Women at Workplace (Prevention, Prohibition, and Redressal) Act, 2013.
6. Health and Wellness Committee: Our regular health check-ups, special care for students with specific medical needs, and mental health support ensures a balanced healthy life.
7. Disciplinary Committee: Works with students, parents, and teachers to maintain discipline and resolve any behavioral issues or conflicts within the school.
8. Grievance Redressal Committee: Addresses grievances raised by students, parents, or staff regarding school operations, policies, or practices.
9. Special Educators' Committee: Collaborates on improving teaching strategies for students with intellectual and developmental disabilities, keeping innovations in special education.
10. Child Protection Committee: Ensures the safety & protection of students, especially in and provides guidelines for safeguarding the rights of children with disabilities.
11. Sports Committee: Chetana's special students have been participating in Special Olympics for the past 20+ years and have won several prizes and medals at the State, National and International level.
12. Educational Trips Committee: At Chetana, this active committee arranges:

12. Parents-Teachers Association (PTA): We ensure a collaboration between parents and teachers to support the holistic development of students.
We discuss school policies, student progress, and any concerns from parents’ side.
Our team of parents dedicate their time, effort and experience in getting an appropriate & beneficial State and Central government schemes for our special students.
Our parents even collaborate with Local Level Committee (LLC) to get Legal Guardianship for our Students.
Our parents represent Chetana at certain events held towards Education, Special rights, NGO meet, etc.
13. Our Transport and Safety Committee: Our daily transport system consists of School bus, Auto Rickshaws, etc. for which this committee oversees the transportation facilities to ensure safe travel for students with disabilities.
Establishes safety protocols, especially for students with mobility challenges.
Ensures in-time mechanical, technical and physical maintenance of all our vehicles.
Time-to-time, resolves disputes if any, due to any reason to maintain healthy relations.
