Through Chetana Bazar, the girls not only learn household management skills, but also gain confidence, patience, and precision. This training ensures they can become self-reliant and actively support their families in day-to-day activities.
Cleaning and packing of Pulses: Our parents and teachers are our regular customers of Chetana Bazar
Cleaning: The girls learn to sort different pulses, remove stones and impurities carefully. This develops attention and fine motor coordination.
Measuring: They are trained to use simple measuring tools to weigh pulses in accurate quantities. This improves numeracy and practical life skills.
Packing: After cleaning, the pulses are neatly packed into pouches, labeled, and sealed. This gives them a sense of achievement and responsibility.
Teamwork: Working together encourages cooperation, communication, and discipline. They start also assisting their parents at home.
Outcome: The final packed product is hygienic and ready for home use or small-scale sale. It also builds confidence and work-readiness among the girls.
2. Dhoop candy (धूप कांडी): Made of essential oils, fragrance, natural binder, dry flowers, herbs and wood powder.
Preparation: The girls learn to mix natural dhoop powder with water or binding agents in correct proportion. This enhances awareness of textures, measurements, and sequencing.
Shaping: They shape the mixture into small cone-like candies using molds or by hand. This develops fine motor skills and creativity.
Drying: The cones are kept for drying in sunlight or ventilated spaces, which teaches them patience and responsibility.
Packing: Once dried, the dhoop candies are hygienically packed in pouches or boxes, improving their organization and vocational abilities.
Learning Outcome: Girls gain confidence, concentration, and teamwork, while also producing a useful product that can be sold in the community.
3. Ubtan (उटणे):
Ingredients: The girls use natural items like turmeric, sandalwood, rose petals, besan, and other herbal powders. This teaches them about textures, fragrances, and natural resources.
Mixing: They carefully measure and mix ingredients in the right proportion, which helps improve numeracy, sequencing, and concentration.
Sieving & Drying: The mixture is sieved and dried to ensure smoothness, which develops patience and attention to detail.
Packing: The ready Ubtan is packed in clean pouches or jars, labeled, and made ready for use or sale, which enhances organization and vocational skills.
Outcome: The girls gain confidence, independence, and work-readiness, while also contributing to a traditional cultural product.
