Aavishkar is one of our Vocational Training Centre group in which 13 special trainees assist in multiple jobs, from operating low end machines to shape different types of Wood under the guidance of qualified and experienced teachers. Everyone in the team has an important role to play, based on their abilities.
Carpentry means developing basic skills with continuous improvement. Our special trainees love their work & feel happy selling end products. All these activities enhances their fine motor skills to lead a successful life ahead.
Students are encouraged to learn basic woodcraft skills through simple and supervised activities. With the help of expert teachers, they use safe wooden material and hand tools to create useful and decorative items like:
Trophy (ट्रॉफी) – Students polish pre-cut wooden shapes, assemble bases and paint/varnish to create trophies and momentoes.
Pen Stand (पेन स्टँड) – Students polishes rough surfaces, carve holes, and paint to make colorful pen stands.
Spoon Stand (स्पून स्टँड) – By joining wooden pieces, students create a small stand with slots to neatly arrange kitchen spoons.
Study Lamp (स्टडी लॅम्प) – Under the guidance of trained teachers a simple wooden lamp stand is prepared and decorated by the trainees.
Gift Tray (गिफ्ट ट्रे) – Flat wooden sheets are cut, polished, and handles are added to make attractive trays. varnish them as gift item
Kitchen Items (स्वयंपाकघरातील लाकडी वस्तू) – Items like wooden rolling pins (लाटणं), chakla (पाट), or small serving boards are crafted, smoothed, and polished by our students.
These regular activities help our special students to:

Trains for vocational independence and earning opportunities.
Bird Nest ( पक्षांचे घरटे) –
Students assemble small wooden planks into a bird-house, apply natural polish, and hang it as a shelter for small birds.
